Shri Sai Baba is one of the greatest Saints, who has walked on this earth. He stayed in Shirdi for more than 60 years as a simple fakir and servent of GOD. Though He never said that he was God or His Incarnation. It was said that He was the incaration of Lord Dattatreya and He came to this earth to bring unity to Hindus and Muhammadan. Little is known of his birth or parent, however, he is said to have born brahmin and grew up as a Muhammadan. He uttered the name of Allah and Ram in the same breath and never saw any difference between any religion. He cannot be called a Hindu or a Muslim. If one looks at Him as Muslim, he has a Dhuni at His Place and if one looks at Him as a Hindu, he utter the word of Allah all the time. He stayed at a masjid (Mosque) and called it Dwarka-mai (Mother Dwarka - abode of Krishna) & said it was open to all - rich and poor, people of all religion & showered love to all who came to Him. Today, Devotees of all religion visit Shirdi to seek His blessing.

Govind Raghunath Dabholkar alias Hemandpant had done a great service to all Baba devotees by documenting His life experience and teaching in Shri Sai Satcharitra. Hemandpant sought the permission of Baba to document His life journey. Shri Sai Baba had said to him : "Let him make a collection of stories and experiences, keep notes and memos; I will help him. He is only an outward instrument.". There have been other devotees like Das Ganu Maharaj, who documented his experience with Baba in Sai Gurucharitra.

Shri Sai Baba's journey and teaching have become more relevant in current time. There are too many temptation in the world and it is easy for anyone to get tempted and move away from righteous and spirtal life. Shri Sai Baba, through His Sai Leelas documented in the Satcharitra, show us the way of Bhakti, Guru-Shishya relationship, how to control our senses and put our faith in the Almightly. Baba never preached one religion but showed us that all religion give the same message and no matter which GOD one prays to, the only thing that matters is be true to oneself and be sincere in our prayer. Baba promised that "Never Fear I am Here" and this gives one the needed faith in the difficult life journey.

Here we bring to you the stories of Shri Saibaba (which has been told many times in many forms). However, it is one story which everyone wants to hear again and again. The account for His story in this website is taken from the Sai Satcharitra and "Yemee Ninnupekshintuna" (TELUGU) by Late Sri Bapatla Hanumantha Rao garu.
